TSRT04 Introduction in Matlab
TSRT04 Introduction in Matlab teaches the basics of MATLAB and practical experience of working with the software. The course can both be seen as a preparation to a large number of university courses where Matlab is used, and as a possibility to learn a powerful engineering software for numerical computations and visualizations.
Course topics
- Matlab as a calculator for scalars, vectors, and matrices.
- Elementary functions and definition of variables.
- Writing scripts and functions.
- Using control structures (if-statements, for- and while-loops) in examples.
- Visualizing results of computations and data sets through self-explaining graphics.
- Using the help system to learn new functions.
- Documentation and writing comments in the code.
Instructors
- Course directors and lecturers: HÃ¥kan Johansson (HT1), Danyo Danev (VT1), Mikael Olofsson (VT2)
- Assistants: PhD students
Course material
- Material handed out for the lessons and labs
Prerequisites
- Linear algebra (can be studied in parallel), programming
