TSKS37 Engineering Computations in Python

TSKS37 teaches how to use Python libraries for engineering computations, implement in Python simple algorithms for signal processing and related applications, implement and evaluate Monte Carlo simulations of simple engineering algorithms, and generate with the aid of Python and other software professional graphics and plots and integrate them into documents.

Course topics

  • Signal processing of audio signals, including linear combinations, mixing, demixing, and two-channel audio handling.
  • Algorithms based on linear algebra and sparse structures, with applications within group testing and data compression.
  • Monte Carlo simulations of performance.
  • Generation of professional plots and integration of them into technical reports

Instructors

  • Course director and lecturer: Karl-Ludwig Besser
  • Assistants: Adrian Edin, David Nordlund, Palatip Jopanya, Henrik Åkesson

Course material

  • Lab material and web documentation

Prerequisites

  • Linear algebra (can be studied in parallel)
  • Programming
